Exploring London - For English Students


Exploring places of interest in London and throughout the UK is a great way to help improve your English language skills, especially if you make an effort to interact with locals. With this being said, we have found some original London attractions for those of you looking for something a little bit different in the capital. So, why not gather your friends together and get out and about in the city? Here are some unique tourist spots that we think you might like...

1. Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising – Portobello Road, Notting Hill

A great destination for those who have an interest in advertising or commercial branding, this museum contacts an array of packs, posters and products. There is also an interesting area full of old English toys, and the museum is a great way to while away a rainy afternoon in the city.

2. Soho Secret Tea Room – above Coach & Horses Pub – Greek Street

Tucked away above a pub, Soho Secret Tea Rooms is a great destination for those wanting a relaxing and traditionally British afternoon. This classic English tea room is decorated in 1940’s style and offers a wide selection of tea, mini sandwiches, cakes, scones and more homemade delights.

3. Chislehurst Caves
With easy access from Lewisham via London Bridge, Chislehurst Caves is a beautiful maze of underground passageways. You can listen to a guided tour while wandering through the caves - good for learning English and lots of fun at the same time!

4. London's unique cinemas



As well as reading, watching films and television is a fun way to help improve your English. So, why not plan a night out with you friends in one of the capital's original cinemas? There are plenty to choose from. For example, Electric Cinema in Notting Hill features giant sofas for the ultimate in relaxation, The Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch has comfy velvet chairs plus a bar, and the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square encourages the audience to sing-along to musicals!
